5 Reasons Your Biting Dog Needs a Muzzle.

1. Dog aggression is serious

The ultimate price paid with owning a biting dog is death to a loved one. Dogs bites can cause severe injury with increased risk to get worse. Firstly, there are myths about aggression. One common myth is the behavior happens suddenly. Secondly, that aggression is breed specific. These shared beliefs often end up with the demise of the dog. Lastly, humans are often left with the same information and therefore, placing themselves in the same predicament with future pet dogs.

2. Safety

If you’re one of the lucky ones, who have caught on to the early warning signs of aggression, please consider being safe and utilizing a muzzle. If your dog has never been trained to wear a muzzle like any other tool, teach the dog to wear the muzzle comfortably. The dog will enjoy wearing the muzzle if you have instructed it adequately and taken your time. If your dog has never attacked a human or animal, you can still practice safety while in public. The muzzle is excellent for safety at the vet and groomer. Humans are unpredictable and also will place unwanted social pressure on your dog like; petting, therefore, warranting a bite or an attack. Fully justified but, you, as the owner, will endure the consequences. You’re also responsible for public safety.

3. Your dog is your responsibility

If you don’t know your dog that well for whatever reason, you should teach your dog to wear the muzzle and enforce its use. If you’re unsure of your dog’s social capabilities, being proactive makes you a responsible owner. Kudos to that.

4. Muzzles are ugly

A muzzle is a tool. If you’re more worried about aesthetics than safety, please remember what can potentially happen if your dog bites someone the next time. The public fears muzzles and that fear or also helps keeps our dogs and the public safe.
